Event description

Volunteers from the local area and beyond are invited to join us for a few days to refresh the house at Sloping Main Reserve, located on the Tasman Peninsula, 1.5hrs from Hobart.

In the future, the house will be used as base for TLC scientists, and science partners working to support conservation efforts at Sloping Main and we are aiming to prepare the house for this next chapter!

There will also be the opportunity to remove leftover sections of fencing and collect scattered wire from the recent fence removal day, now that the drainage lines have been filled in. This work is an important step in making the area safer and more accessible for wildlife and ongoing reserve management.

Stay tuned for dates - we'll be announcing them soon and would love to see you there. It's a great opportunity to get involved and meet other TLC supporters in the area.

By getting involved, you will:

  • Help manage Sloping Main Reserve and its assets.

  • Learn about the history and values of Sloping Main Reserve and various land management skills.

  • Meet and volunteer with other supporters in a beautiful location!

Who should apply:

  • People with practical and hands-on experience: any experience in home maintenance is an advantage including painting.

  • Those who are fit and physically able - we will have a variety of tasks that won't require walking long distances, but a good level fitness and mobility is required.

Getting Started:

  • After registration closes for this volunteering opportunity Gemma, Our Visitation Coordinator, will be in touch to have a chat and arrange the next steps.
