Event description

This free two-part workshop is for emerging and future women and non-binary game developers, including those just starting out or considering a career in game development, who want to learn the fundamentals of game audio composition and/or Godot programming.

You can sign up for one workshop or join us for both; it’s completely up to you! Spots are limited, so please only register if you’re sure you can make it. Each session runs for 2.5 hours, with a short 15-minute break during and a 30-minute break between them if you’re sticking around for the second workshop.

Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop so they can participate in the hands-on portions of these workshops. There aren't any computers available on-site. More information about the workshops and software to install will be provided ahead of the workshops.

Audio Workshop Overview (10am - 12:45pm):

  • Doors open at 9:30am, with a prompt 10am workshop start.

These workshops are being offered both in-person and online to reach as many people as possible:

  • In-Person: Receive Level Her Up swag, network with like-minded women and non-binary gamedevs, and get hands-on support during the workshops. Light refreshments will be provided.

  • Online: Tune in to the workshops from afar via the Level Her Up Discord.

About the Speakers:

Oliver Proslmeyr is a composer, sound designer, and audio engineer with over four years of industry experience, blending electronic and organic elements to create immersive, dynamic soundscapes. Deeply passionate about games and supporting indie developers, with credits on recently released titles from WA Games Misc. A Tiny Tale and Power Sink, and a strong advocate for quality educational incentives in game audio and development.

Isaac Calabrese is an indie game developer, programmer, and creative based in the eastern suburbs of Perth. He is the founder of Rembot Games and has launched three titles built in Godot. Having worked with computers for as long as he can remember, Isaac views video games as the ultimate medium for self-expression and storytelling, and has dedicated his life to creating unique and meaningful interactive experiences.

Level Her Up is a community of women game developers from Western Australia, dedicated to inspiring more women to experience the awesome world of game development. Our goal is to foster a supportive and welcoming community for women and underrepresented individuals to learn game development, while also building up the local WA game development community.
