Light It Up Brooklyn! Family Hanukkah Arts Festival & Shuk

🕎Kick off Hanukkah with joy, creativity, and community!

Join families from across Brooklyn for a festive afternoon filled with hands-on Hanukkah art stations, music, live storytime with visiting authors and illustrators, and our beloved pop-up holiday Shuk (market) featuring incredible local Jewish and Israeli vendors.

We’re building a joyful afternoon with incredible community partners! From menorah-making and dreidel decorating to holiday music and tasty treats, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at this vibrant celebration!

✨ Plus! Meet beloved Jewish children’s book authors and illustrators for special read-alouds throughout the afternoon, with accompanying art activities—happening in our Hanukkah Book & Story Zone, where families can also explore books from local vendors and enjoy the PJ Library Book Nook for cozy reading and free PJ books.

This event is open to the entire Brooklyn Jewish community—invite your friends, family, and neighbors!

Please note: Our large community celebrations often reach capacity. Registering early helps us and our amazing community partners prepare enough treats, craft materials, and hands-on experiences so your family has plenty to enjoy.

💰 Cost**: $10 per child (age 1 and up) | Free for infants under 1 and all grownups

🛒👶 Stroller Parking Notice:
Stroller parking will be outside the building, within our gated area and exposed to the elements. Please plan accordingly. Strollers will not be permitted inside the building, as we do not have space to accommodate them at this event.

📚 HANUKKAH BOOK & STORY ZONE

For book lovers, our Hanukkah Book & Story Zone is a must visit! Families can browse and shop with our book-related vendors - Aura Banana / אור הבננה, The Bookmark Shoppe, Jewish Book Council, and Nina Kentsis, Novelist.

Inside this space, you’ll also find our PJ Library Book Nook, a cozy corner to explore free PJ books and enjoy reading together. Throughout the afternoon, select authors and illustrators will lead special read-alouds with accompanying art activities!

SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY -- OPTIONAL SCHOOL TOUR @ 2:30PM!

In between the crafts and shopping, families interested in learning more about our school are in luck!  Join a brief, behind-the-scenes school tour with Dana Goldberg, Director of Enrollment, and hear about our admissions process.

Families interested in touring should make their way to the Senesh table (look for the tour sign) to depart at 2:30 PM.
