FAQs
- What Is Lights Out And Dance!?
Lights Out And Dance is a weekly dance fitness session, in the dark! It’s your time each week to unwind and just dance. Why? Because dancing is good for the mind, body and soul.
- Who Goes?
If you’re wondering who comes to a Lights Out session, it’s mostly women over 40! While we’re open to everyone joining our dancing fun, we are mostly women 40+ who miss dancing our nights away on nightclub dance floors with our girlfriends and who have no interest in an instructed dance class. We all have different fitness levels, body shapes, and varying musical tastes, but we’re connected by our shared love of music, dancing and exercising at our own pace.
- Do People Go on Their Own?
Yes, most people do. We are a very welcoming dancey tribe and some truly great friendships have been forged from our sessions. So please don’t be shy to join us on your own.
- Can I Just Show Up & Pay?
No. We do not offer door sales at any session. We require everyone who attends to book online and agree to our booking terms and conditions.
- Is There a Teacher?
No. At Lights Out there is no fitness or dance instructor. This is your hour to just switch off and dance. Because there is no instructor, you’ll be responsible for doing your own warm up and warm down during the session
- What Should I Wear?
Dress to sweat! We recommend workout clothing, including comfortable footwear.
- What Kind of Music Is It?
Our playlists are carefully curated and we aim to keep them fast, fun and full of dance floor bangers to keep everyone dancing. We cover a wide variety of decades and genres and aim to get the right balance of old and new. If it’s fast and fun, we’ll dance to it!
- Can I Bring My Kids?
Lights Out sessions are really not suited to kids under 13 and whilst our sessions are targeted at adults, we do allow children to attend as it’s a great opportunity to have a fun dancing session with your kids. We recommend trying a session on your own first to ensure your kids will enjoy it and that they will be ok in a very dark and loud environment. Anyone who brings kids along should bear in mind that we do not filter music with explicit language and all parents/guardians must ensure children are not running amok, using phones, talking/screaming/yelling or being disruptive to other dancers.
