Join us for the award-winning Yarning for Change training program - a powerful, Indigenous-led, trauma-informed professional development experience designed to strengthen culturally safe responses to domestic and family violence, sexual violence and trauma.
Delivered through a culturally grounded Yarning Circle approach, this full-day training combines lived experience, professional knowledge, Aboriginal ways of knowing, being and doing, and practical strategies you can take directly back to your workplace and everyday practice.
WHAT YOU’LL GAIN
Throughout the day, participants will strengthen their understanding of:
Indigenous trauma-informed and culturally safe practice
Historical and intergenerational trauma and its ongoing impacts
Domestic and family violence and sexual violence through a culturally informed lens
Racism, systemic disadvantage and barriers to accessing services
Strengths-based approaches to client engagement, support and case management
The role of culture, identity, connection and community in healing
Practical strategies to create safer, more culturally responsive workplaces and services
You’ll leave with greater knowledge, practical strategies and increased confidence to work respectfully and effectively alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, families and communities.
