Event description

This Sonic Sunday’s we present Northern Rivers Band HUMAN DINOSAUR MACHINE

Another four piece pop-punk band from the Northern Rivers... ‘big-woo’ right?

Seriously though! Human Dinosaur Machine will bury its hooks into you! This vocally raw outfit places its truth be side humour and pain and supports this through intricate rhythms and wondrous melodies that will completely envelop you. HDM’s birth in 2015 was the result of some social refuge during a house party in Lismore between two strangers and an acoustic guitar. What started out as an awkward, intimate jam, blossomed into four close friends making music together.

“HDM are like caged tigers with broken teeth - too wild, too angry, too loud, too BIG! to be boxed into a recording studio. See ‘em live!" - Rob Hirst, Midnight Oil

Human Dinosaur Machine’s writing motivation can be described as a brutalised, honest look at brains – pertaining to all the fun highs and crushing lows that come with personal well being and mental health, with the music and lyrics strongly reflecting this. In recent years, Human Dinosaur Machine have had their single ‘Diary of Broken Bones’ spun by Josh on Triple J’s Short.Fast.Loud segment as well as reaching #5 in the AMRAP regional community radio charts for their single ‘Spaghetti’.

HDM finished 2023 by throwing massive weight behind their last two self-released singles ‘Ventilator’ and ‘Trash’ - gearing up for their debut LP record promised to drop on February 29th. Still so much more to come from HDM so stay tuned!
