Join Down Syndrome Australia for a FREE two-day workshop bonanza!
Are you a person with Down syndrome or intellectual disability wanting to know more about:
- Working and Skills
- How to live a healthy life
- Participating in your Community
Lunch will be provided on Saturday 4th November 2023.
Employment Session – November 3rd, 1.00pm – 4.00pm
Are you interested in getting a job? This workshop is about learning more about getting job ready skills.
We will talk about:
- What is important to you about getting a job
- Your skills and experience
- Your employment goals
Staying Healthy – November 4th, 10.00am – 12.00pm
Facilitated by South Australian Health Ambassador Hugo! Come and join us as we all learn from Hugo about:
- Why staying healthy is important
- Ways you can look after your body and mind
- Tips for talking to health workers
LUNCH 12.00pm – 1.00pm
Community Participation – November 4th, 1.00pm – 3.00pm
This workshop will help you learn about how to be more active and participate in the community. You will learn more about why participating in the community is important and some ways you can do this.

Join Down Syndrome Australia on Saturday November 4th for a full day of FREE workshops for families of a person with Down syndrome and intellectual disability. Come along and connect with other families as we explore:
- Housing Options
- Supporting Healthy Living
- Community Connections.
Lunch will be provided.
Community Connections – 9.30am – 11.00am
In this workshop we will explore why being a part of the community is important and the ways we can support people with Down syndrome to:
- Join in and create connections in their community
- How the NDIS can be used to support connecting and participating in the community.
Supporting Healthy Lives Tips & Tricks - 11.15 – 12.00pm
This information session is for family members of a person with Down syndrome. It will explore how you can support the person with Down syndrome to:
- Live a healthy and active life
- The importance of staying healthy
- Getting support from Health professionals
LUNCH – 12.00PM – 1.00PM
Housing – 1.00pm – 3.00pm
This workshop is for family members of a person with Down syndrome and intellectual disability. The workshop will explore:
- Housing options
- Making decisions about housing
- How the NDIS can be used to help
We will also hear from local parent Jill, who will share her family’s journey to independent living and planning for the future.
