Why staying healthy is important

Ways you can look after your body and mind
Tips for talking to health workers

Community Participation – November 4th, 1.00pm – 3.00pm

This workshop will help you learn about how to be more active and participate in the community. You will learn more about why participating in the community is important and some ways you can do this.

How the NDIS can be used to support connecting and participating in the community.

Supporting Healthy Lives Tips & Tricks - 11.15 – 12.00pm

This information session is for family members of a person with Down syndrome. It will explore how you can support the person with Down syndrome to:

Live a healthy and active life

The importance of staying healthy
Getting support from Health professionals

LUNCH – 12.00PM – 1.00PM

Housing – 1.00pm – 3.00pm

This workshop is for family members of a person with Down syndrome and intellectual disability. The workshop will explore:

Housing options
Making decisions about housing
How the NDIS can be used to help

We will also hear from local parent Jill, who will share her family’s journey to independent living and planning for the future.
