Explore practical and compassionate approaches to end-of-life planning, legacy building, and creating meaningful transitions for yourself and loved ones.

4/30/25: What is an End-of-Life Doula?

Bringing compassion, meaning, and peace during life's final transition, doulas complement the care provided by hospice. This session explores the role of End of Life Doulas and the impact they have on individuals and families. 

5/7/25: Advance Directives

Whether you have your healthcare decisions all planned out or haven't even thought about them yet, it is important that you know your options. We'll explore different Advance Care Planning tools and help you put pen to paper so your loved ones know what matters most to you. 

5/14/25: Ensuring a Good End-of-Life Experience

What does quality of life mean to you? Why this should be the benchmark for how you choosoe to move forward? How can you ensure the best end-of-life experience for yourself? Discover the 9 essential questions you need to answer. 

5/21/25: Having Difficult Family Conversations

Making your wishes known is essential to having your wishes honored. Learn how to have a family conversation about your end of life wishes and why this is one of the greatest gifts you could ever give them. 

5/28/25: Celebration Options, Body Donation, and Organ Donation

What are Home Wakes? Home Funerals? What is a FUNeral? We will explore all the benefits and how to have them. What's the difference between body donation and organ donation, among other questions, will be answered. 

6/4/25: Death Cafe

Death informs life. By talking about death, by holding the conversation, and by caring listening, today's choices about how we want to live our lives can be much clearer. The Death Cafe is a group-directed discussion about life, death and living life.

All sessions are presented by Nancy Macke, a Certified End-Of-Life Doula, with Compassionate Transitions. After a career in healthcare, Nancy found her calling in building relationships to help people navigate some of life's most challenging transitions; specifically those facing end-of-life or life-limiting illness and those contemplating driving retirement. She also has over 10 years of experience working with older drivers and their families guiding collaborative conversations about driving retirement.
