Event description

Join Maggie Lecky-Thompson, the facilitator of a book club and a writers group in Willandra Village as she shares their anthology, Voices from the Village.

Voices from the Village is an anthology of 41 stories and eight biographies from eight residents of the Willandra Village and Bungalows Writers Group. It has something for everyone, drama, romance, travel, comic moments and sad ones too.

We are now of the next generation to drop off the conveyor belt of life. Leaving a legacy, the joy of self-exploration that writing provides are two of our shared pursuits. Despite being of very different backgrounds, ideas, values and life experiences.

Free, bookings required.

Books will be available to purchase at the event for $20 via cash only.

Maggie Lecky-Thompson has had several careers. Firstly as a nurse then a midwife, followed by that of a social worker mental health counsellor. She facilitates a book club and a writers’ group in Willandra Village in Cromer. A health crisis at the end of 2024 initiated a need to write about her life and the idea to work with like-minded neighbours to share that experience.
