Local Jobs for Social Enterprises
Event description
- Are you a social enterprise that employs vulnerable people?
- Would you like to hire more people more but need funding and wrap around support to do so?
- You could be eligible for funding to support a trainee or apprentice back into work after being long-term unemployed
The Commonwealth government has committed to supporting social enterprise as the mechanism for overcoming barriers to employment. This was outlined first in the 'Working Future: The Australian Government's White Paper on Jobs and Opportunities' and then in the recent Federal Budget as part of a $54 million commitment for a Paid Employment Pathways Package.
The 'WorkFoundations’ program supports individuals back into employment through social enterprise and other suitable businesses. Specifically, $21.9 million has been set aside to pilot an initiative that will see job-focused social enterprises funded to work directly with people with complex barriers, giving them the support they need to get back to work.
Join our webinar on Wednesday, October 9th to find out how you can benefit from the opportunities offered by Workforce Australia and the Local Jobs Program.
