Looping and String Making

Join us for an afternoon of learning the ancient art of Looping. You will learn various looping styles beginning with simple looping on a form and progressing to chain or double loop techniques to make vessels or sculptural work. Options to loop into a void or cover rocks and other objects. 

We will use various types of strings and sustainable fibres to create with as well as learning how to make your own string/cordage

This workshop will teach you the techniques and skills to create both functional and sculptural art pieces.

What’s included;

All materials and equipment (please feel free to bring along any found objects or adornments that are special to you if you would like to incorporate them into your project)

Includes tea/coffee and delicious nourishing snacks

Tour of our 1 acre garden oasis where you will learn about harvesting and preparation of plant materials for weaving

Small group sizes allow for plenty of one on one tuition as required

Peaceful and tranquil space, community connection, inspiration and individual creativity is encouraged

Creating art in a sustainable way that is waste-free is important to us. Our aim is to inspire you to think about how creativity can be nurtured without impacting the environment.

There are a couple of steep sections on the paved pathway to get up to the studio, please get in touch to discuss access to the studio if you are at all concerned or require assistance.
