LORDS Community Innovators Day
Event description
LORDS invites our community to join us for an action-packed 'Community Innovators' day.
This day is designed for parents and students to come together and participate in a series of workshops to develop their skills, develop ideas and launch projects to support the local community at LORDS.
Throughout the day we will be hosting three free workshops in the LORDS Design Hub that will see participants getting hands on as they learn how they can build their own businesses, solve challenges in their local community, and redesign areas of the school.
Tickets are available either for each session or the full-day, so please book in for tickets accordingly.
The Power Of Gen Z
9:00am - 9.30am
To start the day, the 20-year-old young entrepreneur, Scott Millar, will be opening the day with a keynote on the power of young people as he shares some examples of young people around the world making change in their local community.
Community Leaders Workshop
9.30am - 11.00am
Our first workshop will be looking at community leadership. In this session, we will be exploring some of the exciting initiatives being run all around the world to help solve challenges in communities. From there we will be identifying issues in our own local communities and designing solutions for these challenges.
Social Enterprise Challenge

After that, we will be hosting a Social Enterprise Challenge. This challenge will see you looking at how you can create your own social enterprise, a business with a mission to make a change in some way, shape, or form.
Designed Spaces Workshop
1:15pm - 2.45pm
To finish the day we will be hosting a workshop on Designed Spaces, this will see you identifying areas around the LORDS campus that you think could be redesigned. In this session, we’ll be learning about sustainable design, technology in our spaces, and user centered design to create a solution.
