Slow down, get creative and discover the joy of making something with your own hands.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to create a beautiful Lotus Fold Journal from scratch. Beginning with simple sheets of paper, you’ll be guided through the folding process and taught how to create all the elements needed to construct your very own handmade book—including the cover.

This is a workshop about process, discovery and making. You’ll learn practical bookmaking techniques while creating a journal that is uniquely yours. There’s something wonderfully satisfying about watching flat sheets of paper transform into a functional, tactile object you can hold, use and treasure.

No previous bookmaking experience is required. Just bring your curiosity and willingness to make.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have created a completed Lotus Fold Journal, made entirely by you, ready to take home to fill with photographs, sketches, words, ideas—or whatever your imagination suggests.

Come and fold- make something beautiful!

This project has been supported by the Regional Arts Development Fund, a partnership between the Queensland Government and Ipswich City Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
