Lucid Gate Ecstatic Dance
Description
🌀LUCID GATE - ECSTATIC DANCE
A Lucid Gate gathering
Lucid Gate is the portal to yourself. We use sound, breath, movement and depth work to take you there. Tonight is one part of that — an ecstatic dance journey, held with real awareness of what's unfolding underneath you as you move.
No experience necessary. No dress code. All you need is a body, curiosity, and the desire to connect with yourself and others.
This is ecstatic dance with one addition: Rachel opens with a grounded attunement into the body, the subtle layers beneath it, and your own presence — before Yurai opens the dancefloor as sacred space, weaving sound and energy to guide the room into freeform movement. Where most ecstatic dance starts on the floor, this one starts in the body, so what unfolds in movement has somewhere real to come from.
We dance without talking, phones, or substances. The floor holds full presence — nothing to watch, nothing to prove.
What to expect
Guided Drop-In and integration with Rachel — a grounded return to breath, body and presence before the dance begins
Ecstatic Dance with DJ Yurai — 90 minutes of a live, mixed and curated set fusing tribal beats with the uplifting pace of psy trance
Live Drumming with Shigadi — drum is a heartbeat of the dance and we will use it to bring the whole experience to life
Integration & Stillness — a slow close to land back in the body. Bring a yoga mat, blanket or cushion to get cozy for this part

FAQs
- What is ecstatic dance?
A free-form movement practice — no choreography, no substances, no one watching. At Lucid Gate, it's also a way back to yourself: a chance to drop out of your head and let your body answer instead of your thoughts. There's no right way to move, no sequence to remember — just what's already alive in you, given room to come out. Some of it will look wild. Some of it might look like standing still. Both are the practice.
- Do I need dance experience?
No experience necessary. There are no steps to follow, nothing to get right — just your own body, moving how it moves. Everyone is welcome, exactly as they are.
- Is alcohol or drugs allowed?
No. This is a substance-free space —presence is the point. You will get high enough off the connection and amazing live DJ , trust us on this one!!
- Can I just watch?
You can rest, sit, or move gently at any point. Listening to your body includes knowing when to pause.
- What should I wear?
No dress code. Wear whatever helps you move and feel comfortable to express yourself — bare feet are welcome.
- What time should I arrive?
Doors open at 6:00pm. We recommend arriving early to settle in before the guided drop-in begins at 6:15pm — doors close once we start.
- Can I bring my kids?
15+ only, with an adult present. This one's built for an adult nervous system — the music, low light and depth of the space aren't suited to younger ones.
