Luminous 2026 lantern-making workshops

Following the incredible community response to previous years, AMES Australia is excited to welcome the return of the Luminous Lantern Parade.

Come an take part in one of our lantern-making workshops at the Multicultural Hub in the weeks preceding the parade, and create your very own lantern to light up the streets of Melbourne! Construct your lantern by yourself, with a friend or in a team! We will provide all the materials and support you need to make something special and unique to you!

Then on Wednesday, 26 August, from 6:00 PM, join the parade at Birrarung Marr which will make its way through the heart of Melbourne, concluding at Federation Square, where participants can continue the celebration with a vibrant program featuring food trucks, live stage entertainment, and a festive atmosphere showcasing the diversity and spirit of our community.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to enjoy the rich mix of our diverse community in the heart of our city!
