A six-session circle to support the transition into parenthood

Pregnancy, birth and postpartum are more than a series of physical events. They are a profound transition into parenthood, one that changes not only what we do, but who we are.

This six-session (3 weekends) circle is an invitation to slow down, connect and prepare for the journey of matrescence, alongside a community of other birthing parents.

Across three stages: Pregnancy (Body), Birth (Breath) and Postpartum (Mind), we’ll explore the physical, emotional and psychological dimensions of this transformative time.

Each stage unfolds across two sessions. One session is grounded in expert knowledge and practical education, offering knowledge, tools and perspectives to support you. The second offers space to integrate, reflect and connect through creative practices such as clay and sculpture, paper-based art and weaving. This session invites ritual, meaningful conversation and a deeper connection to your own experience.

PREGNANCY ~ BODY

Connecting with your changing body, building awareness and learning practical tools to support yourself through pregnancy and birth.

Georgia Jane from Bodyworks will guide us through pelvic support, self-binding, balancing techniques and exercises to support your pregnant body and create more ease.

BIRTH ~ BREATH

Sunday 18 October · 9:30 - 11:30am

Understanding the physiology of birth, exploring the role of breath and the nervous system, and building a toolkit of practices to support you through the birthing experience.

The expert session will be led by a Josie Hipwell from Radiant Birth.

POSTPARTUM ~ MIND

Saturday 24 October · 5:00 - 7:00pm
Sunday 25 October · 12:30 - 2:30pm

Exploring matrescence, identity, emotional wellbeing and the transition into parenthood, while considering the support, resources and community that can hold you beyond birth.

The expert session will be led by Sanne, a postpartum doula.

So often, preparation for parenthood centres around the birth itself. But the transformation begins long before birth and continues long after.
