Event description

Get ready for a night of Western Sydney stories on the big screen!

Join Made in the West Film Festival and Bankstown Arts Centre for THREE special pop-up screenings as part of our 2025 Marathon Summer Series. Arrive at 6pm to meet the filmmakers and then settle in for a short film marathon like no other!

Made in the West films are often surprising, sometimes challenging, and always bold - these hand-picked line-ups are no exception! Now for the hard part: deciding if you'll attend ALL the screenings, or choose a favourite!

Tickets are $10.

Screenings at Bankstown Arts Centre include:

In Between Worlds - Saturday 7 February at 6pm

Step into stories where characters cross emotional, cultural and even mythic boundaries to discover who they are - and who they might become. These films bridge the territory between identity, grief, fantasy and belonging.
🎬 Films include: Oi, Azadi, Yandel’mawa, Tamah, I Don’t Wanna: Sarah Jane & The Noise, and Olan, Earthbound.

🕒 Running time: 83 mins

Fun Sized Shorts - Saturday 14 February at 6pm

Short, sharp and unexpected - this is a fast-binge sampler of mini gems and quick-hit genre pieces. The films in this lineup are playful, punchy and packed with energy - perfect for audiences who love variety and surprise.
🎬 Films include: I Don’t Wanna: Sarah Jane & The Noise, Egg Law, Yandel’mawa, Stone Lions, Liquid Lions, Wander, Waves, Always: Sonic Mantra, Fun & Games, Wolf, Fasten Your Belts: Deo, Wombo, The Teapot Troopers, and Tiger Cop: Project A.

🕒 Running time: 82 mins

Truth & Illusion - Saturday 21 February at 6pm

Stories where belief and reality collide - exploring manipulation, self-deception and the moments we finally confront what’s real. These films journey through fragile hope, identity and the things we desperately want to believe - even when we shouldn’t.
🎬 Films include: The Colour of Black, Rage Bait, No Right Turn, Wombo, I Spy Myself, and Hold.
🕒 Running time: 83 mins

Mature audiences recommended.

Bring your friends and settle in for an unforgettable night of Western Sydney cinema!

This event is proudly presented by Made in the West Creative in partnership with Bankstown Arts Centre.

Ticket FAQs:

My order is more expensive than the advertised price. What gives?

Once you have selected your tickets, step through to the order form. Humanitix applies a booking fee and GST to all orders - this is something we are unable to navigate around. All profits from their booking fees go toward charitable causes.

My discount code isn't working!

If you have been provided with a discount code, it must be applied on the Checkout page (not the ticket selection page). Enter your code, click 'Apply' and your order should automatically update.

Do I need to bring my ticket to your in-person events?

Yes please - digital is preferred (save the trees!)

Is my ticket transferable?

Yes. You can follow the instructions given below to edit the information including the name and email address for each ticket holder / attendee. If you can't do it yourself, you can contact Made in the West and they will update your ticket for you.

I don't have the names of people attending yet. Can I still register for tickets?

Enter 'TBC' for the first and last name fields and enter your own contact details for the other phone and email address fields. You can return to the order and edit / amend details later (see instructions below).

Can I update my registration information?

You can update or edit the information on your order - like name, email address, or answers to the questions we ask in the checkout section.

To update your information:

  1. Locate the ticket order confirmation email sent to you by Humanitix, and click the 'Manage order' button to amend / update your order online.

  2. From here, you can update, edit or change the details of your order BUT remember to scroll to the bottom of the page to click 'Update' to save your order.

If you can't find your ticket order confirmation email, or have any trouble, please reach out to us for help.

I want to send tickets to everyone who is attending. How can I do that?

Follow the instructions above and click 'Manage order' in your Humanitix confirmation email. Here you can edit your settings to send tickets to everyone attending the event in the top 'Buyer Information' section. Ensure the checkbox next to 'Email tickets to attendees' is ticked, and click the 'Update' button at the bottom of your screen. Confirm with the people attending they have received their tickets; if they haven't, please contact us to assist.

I have questions or concerns about accessibility. Can you help me?

Yes! Please reach out to us.

My issue isn't included here / I need help with something else.

Please check the fantastic help section on Humanitix in the first instance. If you cannot find the answer you're looking for, please reach out to us.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

You can email the Made in the West team here or use the contact form on our website.
