Event description

Proudly supported by Auckland Council Waste Solutions.

Ready to become a DIY superstar? Join The ReCreators for an exciting workshop where kids and teens will learn how to safely use power tools to build two awesome projects: a toolbox to store your gear and a breadboard perfect for the kitchen!

With guidance from friendly experts, you’ll use real tools like drills, saws, and sanders — and learn new skills while having loads of fun.

What You'll Do:

  • Build your very own wooden toolbox

  • Create a cool breadboard you can actually use

  • Learn how to handle tools with confidence and care

  • Take home two awesome handmade items!

What to Bring & Wear:

  • Covered shoes

  • Snug-fitting clothes (nothing too loose)

  • Weather-appropriate clothing (we might work outside)

  • Snack, Lunch, and Water Bottle

What’s Included:

  • Safety briefing at the start

  • Tool use 101 – drills, jigsaws/skill saws, and sanders

  • Step-by-step help with each project.

  • One-on-one support if you need it.

The ReCreators is a charity teaching tamariki and rangatahi how to reduce waste and reuse materials in fun, creative ways. Join us for a day of building, learning, and helping the planet!
