Making Paper Banksias (1 day workshop)

Join new local paper artist Jo Neville make one of the most common native flowers found along the eastern states of Australia
You will be amazed at how something that looks so complex is easy to make. In this workshop you will look at the real bloom from bush to workroom to understand the simple paper engineering of how to make this native flower Jo will dissect a flower so you can see how to translate it into paper a method often used to engineer 3D objects.
You will start with making a common coastal Banksia variety, in the afternoon you will discuss and look at other banksia varietals and other natives suitable using this technique. All materials will be supplied for this workshop. If you are growing a banksia in your garden or find some on a local walk bring along some leaves or a candle (flower) if flowering or a nut. There is quite a bit of cutting in this workshop, scissors will be supplied, however, bring your favourite pair for comfort. You will be using glue guns for sticking again these will be supplied but feel free to bring your own.
Tickets: Early-bird members $95 (if booked before 20/4/25), non-members $110, non-members $130. All materials will be supplied for this workshop.
