Malaami Futures Community Workshop - for residents of all parts of the Bellingen Shire.
Based on our learnings at the Learning from Country event (happening the day before, 25 March - https://events.humanitix.com/m...), this collaborative workshop will help us envision the future and create a solid collective plan towards reimagining our local food supply, energy production, land and water management, economic systems, and health and wellbeing.
This plan will build on all the good work that is already being done so that we can move more clearly and intentionally towards a resilient future for the Bellingen Shire in the face of the climate emergency.
We hope that long time residents of the Bellingen Shire will bring their wisdom and experience, and new arrivals to the Shire will join us with a willingness to learn, enthusiasm and fresh ideas.
This event will be facilitated by the Centre for Ecological Learning with support from local community members, and guided by Gumbaynggirr elders. We ask that you commit to staying for the entire workshop as it will be a sequential collaborative process.
The event is free of charge. You have the option to arrive at 9am for a smoking ceremony by Gumbaynggirr elders. Morning tea will be served. You must register and show your ticket at the door in order to participate.
