Manava Retreat - Honour the Matriarch
Talofa
This Mother’s Day weekend, we invite you to step into the Vā—the sacred space of restoration. The Manava Retreat is a time to honour you and your power as the matriarch and divine feminine.
Held at the luxurious Garlinge Estate in the hills of the Gold Coast hinterland, surrounded by the beauty of nature, alongside other beautiful sisters, you will enjoy a sacred and nurturing space where we will draw upon your innate and shared wisdom. You will be served, held, and restored.
I want to honour the deep lineage of Samoan healing traditions — fofo, taulasea, and the quiet, steady wisdom carried by our mothers, aunties, and grandmothers. These traditions were never just about healing the body. They were about restoring balance, strengthening spirit, and reminding us of our worth.
Serve the one who serves everyone else. Join us for a weekend of nurturing one's soul in pursuit of wholistic wellness.
A Message from Your Host
I cannot wait to serve you and witness your restoration. This weekend, you are not the one who takes care of everyone else. This weekend you focus on what's most important, you.
With Love and Mana,

The Sacred Koko (Cacao) Ceremony
In our culture, Koko is more than a drink; it is a bridge. Sourced from the volcanic soil of Samoa, our ceremonial Koko is prepared with love and respect.
The Ritual: We will gather to share this wholesome experience, traditionally used to open the heart and ground the spirit.
The Science: Koko contains theobromine, a gentle stimulant that increases blood flow to the brain and heart without the "crash" of caffeine. It facilitates the release of dopamine and phenylethylamine (the "love" chemical), making it the perfect companion for our deep reflection work.
The Art of Reflection: Your Journaling Practice
We believe that "The pen is the paddle of the Va’a (Canoe)." To navigate your future, you must first understand your waters.
What to Bring: Please bring a journal that feels special to you—one that has "room to breathe."
The Intention: We will be moving through guided prompts focused on self love, healing and ancestoral wisdom. We will look at what your mothers and grandmothers carried, what you wish to set down, and what Mana you are ready to claim for yourself.
Preparation for the Drumming & Breath Workshops
The Drum: Our drumming workshop is a somatic release. You don't need to be "musical." You only need a heartbeat. We will use the rhythm of the islands to move stagnant energy out of the body.
The Breath (Mānava): We will be practicing deep diaphragmatic breathing to "reset" your nervous system, signaling to your body that it is finally safe to rest.
Packing List for the Weekend
To honor the tradition of Mothers Day (Aso Sa o Tinā), we have a few special requests:
Island Attire: Please bring an island inspired outfit (dress or tunic) for our Matriarch's breakfast on Mother's day before you depart.
A "Legacy Item": Bring a small photo or a memento of a woman in your lineage (mother, grandmother, aunt, or mentor) to place on our shared Aiga Altar.
Comfortable Movement Wear: For our drumming and somatic breathwork.
Open Heart: Come as you are—tired, hopeful, or simply seeking silence. The Vā is ready for you.
