Let's explore the art of interconnected movement and embodied sacred geometry through traditional yoga postures and joyful creative play. This 90-minute workshop is designed to cultivate the magic of unity and collective expression, both physically and energetically. We will connect our minds, bodies and spirits in motion and stillness through heart-opening hugging meditation, energizing vinyasa warmup, dynamic group flow, playful yoga improv (collaborative living "sculptures"), supportive partner poses, and a beautiful human mandala in savasana. We will smile, laugh, and leave this workshop feeling invigorated and uplifted.
This class involves giving and receiving physical support and close contact with other participants in a safe environment. We will not engage in acro yoga or advanced inversions, but we will assist each other's balance through gentle touch (e.g. pressing hand-to-hand or sitting back-to-back). We will begin class with group agreements of consent and caring for self and others. Guided meditation and breathing will help us open up to self-awareness and loving-kindness. Familiarity with basic yoga asana (standing and seated poses) is helpful, but not required. Bring a yoga mat, water bottle, and your sense of curiosity and fun!
