Off the back of a month long trip to Guinea, Mandeng Groove are in peak form and are back in Melbourne with fresh music for your ears.
A collective inspired by the Manding music tradition of West Africa, their live shows are high energy and bound to get you on your feet.
Mandeng Groove is a co-creation of producer, guitarist and composer Kyle Muir and Guinean-Australian musician Amadou Kalissa. Kalissa’s family lineage specialises in the Kora, Djembe and N’goni, dating back many generations. Joining them are Flora Carbo (saxophone), Noah Hutchinson (bass), Lachlan Leeds (electric guitar), and Alex Roper (drums).
Over their month-long music tour, Mandeng Groove immersed themselves in music lessons with masters of traditional instruments, hosted and performed at a local festival and recorded their upcoming album due to be released later this year.
