Mapping Place
Event description
A workshop for early years educators (early childhood / foundation) to connect to and learn with their local everyday places.
In this workshop, educators will experiment with arts-based processes that respond to everyday encounters with Place. When we view Place as a living system and take time to tune in deeply with the world, we learn that Place is a pedagogical force that is always in motion. From this premise, we can cultivate inquiry processes and build curriculum that is authentic, lively, responsive to and deeply connected with the places where we live, work and play.
Participants will explore:
- Contemporary Theories - Connect with Place-based pedagogies, concepts & ideas
- Playful Learning Strategies - Responding to Place as generating active and lively curriculum at all times
- Arts-Based Inquiry - Innovative ways to activate dynamic inquiry-based learning culture
