    About the Book:

The historical society fundraiser at Louise Jenkins’s ancestral estate, Twin Beeches, is a huge success — until a guest finds a body in the pantry.

Louise, who trusts her instincts more than the evidence that the police are gathering, persuades her daughter, Amelia Halliday, to conduct her own inquiry. Amelia, recently fired as an investigative reporter, knows a bit about facts leading to the wrong conclusion.

She is joined by an irrepressible, brainy tweener, Winnie Miller. With her evidence box in tow, Winnie helps Amelia discover connections to other crimes, causing tension between Amelia and the police detective with whom she once had a relationship.

As Amelia digs deeper — and another body turns up — she discovers there is more at stake than just solving the murder at Twin Beeches.

    About the Author:

When Maria was a child, the Langhorne Library in Bucks County, Pennsylvania was where she planned to live when she grew up, probably because it had a slew of Nancy Drew books, and its late nineteenth-century architecture looked more like a house than a library. Dreams do come true. Sort of.

She now writes the murder mysteries, and her character Amelia Halliday lives in the library. It’s a win-win. But winning didn’t happen overnight.

After studying English literature and theater in college, Maria crisscrossed the country as a journalist for The Bulletin in Philadelphia, The Sacramento Bee, Time and People magazines before segueing into public relations. Writing mysteries is now her full-time endeavor.

Murder at Twin Beeches is Maria’s debut novel. She lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
