As a reminder the details for this event have been listed below - please review carefully based on the week that you booked in.

⏰ Time: 10:30am – 1:00pm (Daily - Tuesday to Thursday)
📍 Meeting Point: Mary MacKillop Place Museum Entry - 7 Mount Street

Important Info:
- Drop-off: arrive 15 mins prior to program for sign-in
- BYO morning tea, water bottles
- Wear comfortable clothes suitable for movement and crafting
- Please note: a reminder that part of this program may be located upstairs. If you have not yet notified of any accessibility needs, please contact our team helen.chan@mmp.org.au
- A reminder that you need to either email or bring a printed copy of any medical action plans based on the needs of your child. If you did not disclose any pre-diagnosed issued prior to booking, please contact helen.chan@mmp.org.au so that we can update our records and attach any documentation we may require to be best prepared.
- At least one First Aid-trained staff member will be present on site each day. Parents/guardians will be notified promptly of any incidents or injuries.
- A Photo Consent form will be provided shortly. This will need to be signed and returned either in print or via email to media@mmp.org.au prior to or on the morning of the first day of this program. If you are not comfortable with your child being photographed for the purpose of promotion of this event, please notify us via the media@mmp.org.au email so that we can identify your child at check in and ensure that they are not photographed throughout the day
  What to Expect:

Week 1: “Journey with Mary MacKillop”
Celebrate Mary MacKillop’s Feast Day through creative storytelling, craft, and roleplay:

Day 1 – Mary's Life and Mission: Children decorate their own mission backpacks and play an interactive floor game tracing Mary’s life journey.
Day 2 – Building Mary’s First School: Students take a mini-tour of the museum, then construct a school diorama using craft materials.
Day 3 – Walking in Mary’s Footsteps: A trail activity teaching values of kindness, courage and compassion [bonus: stamp passport included] followed by group games and sharing.

Week 2: NAIDOC Week – “Strength, Vision and Legacy”
Engage with Aboriginal culture and the 2025 NAIDOC theme through art, nature, and storytelling:

Day 1 – Connection to Country: A nature walk followed by sensory storytelling and reflection on land and place.
Day 2 – Strength & Legacy: Students engage in a Yarning Circle, create strength shields, and collaborate on an Aboriginal food diorama.
Day 3 – Vision for the Future: Through books, art and group discussion, students will contribute to a vibrant mural expressing their hopes for the future.

Parent/Guardian Consent & Acknowledgement

We’re so pleased to welcome your child to the July School Holiday Program at Mary MacKillop Place (MMP). To help us ensure everyone’s experience is safe, enjoyable and well-supported, we ask that you read and agree to the following:

I consent for my child to take part in the Mary MacKillop Place School Holiday Program and all planned activities.
I understand that every effort will be made to provide a safe and supportive environment. I also acknowledge that, like any children’s program, some low-level risk may be involved - especially during movement-based or outdoor activities.
I understand that the staff will promote a respectful and inclusive environment. If my child requires additional behavioural support, I will be contacted. The organisers reserve the right to withdraw a child from the program if their behaviour risks the safety or wellbeing of others.
I’ll make sure my child arrives and is collected on time each day - If a different parent or guardian will pick up my child, I will provide the name of the authorised adult who may be collecting them. My child will only be released to listed contact unless advised otherwise in writing. I know this is a drop-off program, and I’m reassured that my child will be in the care of qualified, caring staff.
I have disclosed all (if any) diagnosed medical conditions (e.g. asthma, anaphylaxis), and will provide a current medical action plan and medication to the MMP Staff upon arrival.
I understand that if my child becomes unwell or needs support during the program, staff may contact me, and I’ll make sure I’m reachable during program hours.
I understand that Mary MacKillop Place, the Sisters of Saint Joseph, and their staff and volunteers will do everything reasonably possible to keep my child safe. I acknowledge that while staff will take every reasonable precaution, some risk is inherent in children’s programs. I release Mary MacKillop Place and its representatives from liability except in cases of proven negligence.
I’ll send my child each day with a water bottle, appropriate food, and comfortable clothing for craft and movement. I’ve shared any important medical or wellbeing info (like allergies or access needs) with staff ahead of time.
I know that the part of the program may be require the use of stairs and have contacted staff if any accessibility arrangements are needed.
