What to expect:

Live music, food stall, BBQ, Mr Whippy, and guest speakers!

Join us for a picnic and rally in support of the community, disability sailing, and saving the Bay for future generations!

What's proposed
- A 140 m terminal for four ferries in the heart of Matilda Bay
- Two ferries consistently berthed during the day
- A two-storey building for high voltage charging built on the middle car park
- 39+ trees to be cleared
- Sea grass cleared that feed the dolphins and swans and bring them close to shore
- Speed exemptions at three times the current speed limit past sailing clubs

Safety: an independent risk report found children, novices, people with a disability and other water users would be at serious risk

Community programs at risk, including Sailability WA and local sailing, rowing and outdoor clubs

Wildlife at risk: seagrass that feeds the dolphins and swans, and brings them close to shore, would be cleared, and migratory bird habitat at Pelican Point under threat

No formal environmental assessment: the EPA decided not to assess it
No public consultation

400,000 people visit the bay every year

We're asking the Government to relocate the terminal round the corner to a safer site at JoJo's.

Matilda Bay is a treasure we must protect; once this natural sanctuary is lost, it will be gone forever, not just for us, but for for future generations.

Friends of Matilda Bay is calling for the State Government to pause the planned terminal at Matilda Bay, reasses the project and properly consider a terminal location that truly works for all Perth commuters, will reduce Perth's road congestion and will stimulate foreshore activation where there are bars, cafes, restaurants and genuine tourism development interest.

JoJo's is a ready-made solution that makes sense environmentally, financially, and for the community.
