Mauri Ora: The Rematriation Circle
Event description
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT |
With gratitude we acknowledge the Palawa people as the First Peoples of Lutruwita. We pay respect to their Elders and the sacred feminine wisdom that has cared for these lands, waters, and skies since the first light. Our intention is to honour their culture, uplift their mauri (life force) and nurture the wellbeing of all.
YOUR FACILITATORS |
Ōriwa Clark - Ngāti Porou | Ngāti Kahungungu | Rongowhakaata | Te Aitanga-ā-Māhaki
Mauri Practitioner and Matakite (seer) based in Nipaluna, Lutruwita (Hobart, Tasmania). Rooted in her Māori heritage, she weaves spaces of connection where generations come together to learn and heal, while working to restore balance and mauri (life force) within the land. Guided by aroha (love), her superpower, she infuses this energy into her work, community and the wider natural world.
Irihipeti Waretini - Ngāti Rangi - www.irihipeti.com
Mauri Practitioner, and a people and practise weaver of multi-dimensional stories, Irihipeti is a multi-disciplinary artist, movement and wellbeing practitioner living in Naarm (Melbourne), whose work meets at the intersection of cultural healing, storytelling, creativity and embodied expression. Drawing from Māori creation stories, her practise activates the physical and spiritual channels of your self-growth, understanding and clearing any stagnant energy or blocked channels within your physical and spiritual bodies, using sound, movement, and ritual.
THE REMATRIATION CIRCLE |
Honouring both masculine and feminine energies, this circle has been created as a safe and welcoming space for those of us with wombs to attune to the healing nature of Papatūānuku (Earth Mother), the collective womb and the sacred rhythms that guide us back to balance.
We warmly welcome womb holders of all ages and cultural backgrounds to join us, to journey through self-healing practices rooted in Māori ceremony and ritual, with a gentle, powerful focus on rematriation and the return of sacred feminine power. From a Māori worldview, rematriation restores balance, revitalises mauri (life force), and deepens our living relationship with Papatūānuku (Earth Mother) and her kaitiaki (custodians).
RESPECTING THE KNOWLEDGE |
In our teachings, we share Māori concepts and words because of the vibration, depth and our connection to ancestral lineage. At times, these may not be fully explained, as some things are meant to be felt more than understood. Where possible, we will offer guidance and elaboration, and you are warmly invited to ask questions. You may also choose to simply let the words flow through you, trusting that what resonates will land when the time is right.
By attending this workshop, you also agree to honour the lineage of the knowledge shared. These teachings are for personal practice and use only and may not be replicated, reproduced or taught to others without written consent from Ōriwa Clark or Irihipeti Waretini.
