Advocating for Your Child’s Medical Needs
Virtual Medical MyTime
About this event
Are you a parent or carer of a child with disability, developmental delay, or autism who has medical needs? Do you find it challenging to advocate for your child's care at school or childcare?
Join our peer group discussion to share your experiences and learn from other parents who understand the unique challenges you face. We'll discuss what strategies families are using for effective communication with educators to ensure proper medical care during school hours. As well as adapting learning environments to suit your child's needs. There will be an opportunity to discuss your successes, obstacles, and questions in a supportive, understanding environment. Together, we can empower each other to be strong advocates for our children's education and well-being!
This event is facilitated by Pam
Pam lives in Canberra with her husband Tom and their four children. Their nine-year-old son, Christopher, was born with Congenital Cytomegalovirus. They enjoy spending quality time together as a family, creating special memories and raising compassionate humans. Pam is passionate about empowering new mothers and carers to own their choices.
She is currently studying to become a qualified birth, postpartum, and end-of-life doula to work closely with and better support families facing difficult diagnoses in utero, neonatally, and beyond.
Who is this event for?
Medical MyTime is for parents and carers who are navigating the health and medical systems with a child with disability, developmental delay or autism.
