INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY!
Please come and join guide Luisa for an important Social Walks event at Yarra Bend Park to walk the Park Loop Trail and to celebrate a significant day on the calendar honouring the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women around the world. This is without a doubt one of the best hikes close to Melbourne that is close to public transport and will be a fantastic event to come along to celebrate IWM!
Our Social Walks are a great way to get outside, get your body moving and make some amazing new friends along the way!

WHAT TO EXPECT
The Yarra Bend Park Loop is a fun and easy hike for beginners and newbies!
The Track is a 9.2km loop + 3k return trek from the Abbotsford Convent that takes around 3-3.5 hours to complete depending on our pace.
All ages and fitness levels are welcome to this event.
The Yarra Bend Park Loop trail has some fantastic highlights like some great historic bridges, Waterfalls, and wildlife including a large Bat habitat. It's Melbourne best kept secret!
START TIME AND MEET LOCATION
Meeting Location: Abbotsford Convent - 1 St Heliers St, Abbotsford VIC 3067 (Parking Available)
Meeting Time: Arrive between 9:30-9:50am for a 10:00am SHARP Departure.
Parking - There is paid all day parking at the Abbotsford Convent as well as some free street parking.
Public Transport - The Convent is also only short 15 minute walk from Victoria Park Train Station.
WHAT TO BRING
- Water (at least 1-2L)
- Snack food for the hike
- Picnic Lunch (or money to buy lunch at the Abbostford Convent Cafe's) after the hike.
WHAT TO WEAR
- Comfortable Walking Shoes
- Comfortable Weather Suitable Clothing (check weather the night before).
- Hat / Sunglasses & Sun Protection
FINISH
The Hike should take around 3 hours with small breaks to enjoy some sightseeing.
We should finish back where we started around lunch time where we can gather for a picnic lunch or hit up the cafe at the Abbotsford Convent.
The Collingwood Farm next door to the Convent is always worth a visit for anyone looking to continue exploring the area after our event.
