WHAT TO EXPECT
Mt Macedon is a picturesque area to the North West of Melbourne's CBD located just a 1.15 hour drive outside of Melbourne.
The Mt Macedon Camels Hump and Eco Nature Walk is a prominent mountain walk located in the Macedon Ranges and is around 8km in length with approx. 125m of elevation. The trail is considered an easy/moderate hike but is a great walk for beginners looking to challenge themselves and take their hiking to the next level.
START TIME AND MEET LOCATION
Meeting Location: Days Picnic Area, Mt Macedon, located off Lions Head Rd
Meeting Time: Arrive 9:30am for a strict 9:50am Departure.
Parking options: There is free parking at the meeting location.
NOTE: Arriving on time is critical to the Walk getting away on time. Participants not checked-in by 9:50am may be left behind.
CARPOOLING: Need help getting a lift to the hike, feel free to post in the Melbourne Social Walks Facebook Group
WHAT TO BRING
- Water (at least 2L)
- Snack food for the hike
- Money for lunch afterwards (optional)
WHAT TO WEAR
- Comfortable sturdy walking shoes
- Weather suitable clothing (check weather the night before)
- Hat or Beanie / Sun Protection)
FINISH
The Hike should take around 3.5 hours with some small breaks to enjoy the scenery as well as a stop for picnic lunch.
