ABOUT THIS EVENT
Join us for another awesome Social Walk with Adam as we explore the majestic grounds of Sugarloaf Reservoir. This is a 15km loop walk that traverses along the dam wall that overlooks a stunning expanse of water with the Christmas Hills off in the distance. We will also be able to see the CBD from the top of Sugarloaf Hill! and wildlife is highly likely where kangaroos should be hopping through the fields.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Sugarloaf Reservoir Circuit Loop is around 15km and is a moderate hike for beginners and newbies that will have a couple of decent inclines throughout the day with a total of 304m in incline across the day! We will be walking through beautiful bushland which changes to the dam wall overlooking the water as well as open fields where kangaroos and wallabies hop about.
The trail is roughly 15km and should take around 3 - 3.5 hours to complete depending on our pace. The trail is moderate with a few challenging hills so be prepared!
All good base level of fitness are required for this event.
This is a really great trail with an excellent chance to see a wide variety of environments and unique views you won't get anywhere else and the views across the water are breathtaking!
START TIME AND MEET LOCATION
MEETING LOCATION: Sugarloaf Reservoir Park Western Lookout
MEETING TIME: Arrive between 9:30am - 9.50am for a 10.00am departure. We should finish at around 1.30pm
NOTE: Arriving on time is critical to the Walk getting away on time. Participants not check-in by 09:50am may be left behind.
PARKING: There is plenty of free parking at the meeting location
CARPOOLING: Need help finding a ride to the hike, feel free to post in the Melbourne Social Walks Facebook Group.
WHAT TO BRING
- Water (at least 2-3L)
- Snack food for the hike
- Money for pub/café afterwards (optional)
WHAT TO WEAR
- Comfortable Walking Shoes
- Comfortable Weather Suitable Clothing (check weather on the day).
- Hat / Beanie
FINISH
The Hike should take around 3 - 3.5 hours with small breaks to enjoy some sightseeing and a picnic lunch.
This is a great hike in an iconic tourism location in Victoria.
