WHAT TO EXPECT
Pound Bend Reserve is a scenic and tranquil park located in Warrandyte, Victoria, Australia. It is renowned for its natural beauty, including lush bushland, the beautiful Yarra River, and diverse wildlife. The reserve offers a variety of outdoor activities, such as walking and cycling trails, as well as opportunities for picnicking and fishing along the river. The reserve also has historical significance, with remnants of gold mining activity in the area from the 19th century!
A highlight of the reserve is the historic Pound Bend Tunnel, which was originally constructed during the gold rush era to divert the Yarra River and assist in gold mining. The tunnel is an intriguing feature that attracts visitors interested in history and engineering.
Also, Bring your bathers as we'll go for a swim in the pristine waters of the Yarra River!
