ABOUT MICHAEL GORDON OCTET
Sydney based composer and saxophonist Michael Gordon presents a night of original jazz octet compositions.The music is influenced by jazz composers such as Duke Ellington and Thelonious Monk, as well as incorporating elements of classical composition and the Great American Songbook.
Jazz saxophonist and composer Michael Gordon attended Sydney Conservatorium and has spent the last 10 years living in Sydney. He has performed with many of Australia's finest jazz musicians such as John Harkins, Andrew Dickeson, Michael Griffin and Dave Panichi. Michael's music has been featured on ABC radio and RNZ as well as being reviewed in several Australian newspapers.
