MiCRO - exploring the big ideas behind small spaces

This event has passed Get Tickets

Event description

Under the creative direction of the RAA’s founding President, Cameron Anderson, we explore the big ideas behind small spaces and practices – visiting some of the iconic homes and hospitality venues of the Mudgee region including those recently designed by Cameron and also Glenn Murcutt.

MiCRO follows the format familiar to those who have attended our events in recent years with a studio visit, then social gathering on Thursday the 14th at Anderson’s Gawthone’s Hut followed by dinner at the Lawson’s Park Hotel.

Friday brings a wealth of speakers exploring the theme to the grounds of Rosby Wines and Gallery with local food, wines and music. Amongst the conversations we will hear about Rosby’s Sculpture in the Gardens event and how they engage with local Council to acquire public art.

After enjoying all that Mudgee has to offer and connecting with fellow members – Saturday gives us access to Glenn Murcutt’s most recent small project with a site visit followed by wine tastings at Yeates Wines Cellar Door.

Beyond the 6 CPD points provided at this event we are extending the theme into on-line events in the lead-up with discussions from members around small practice in regional contexts.

RAA events are open to associated disciplines and interested community members as well as RAA members.

Access and accommodation info is available here.
