About the class:

Midwinter’s Muse: Embracing the Season’s Gifts and the Gifts Within through Book Making and Expressive Journaling

Midwinter is a pause in the natural world—a time for deep rest and renewal. And it is an invitation for us to reflect, to dream, and to express ourselves. Join us for a restorative and creative mini retreat as we explore, honor, and embrace the gifts of midwinter and the gifts within ourselves. Art Therapist Courtney Powers will guide us in creating enchanted journals using a variety of book-making techniques. Stacey Hayes, creator of Soulful Seasons, will take us on a journey to fill the pages of this magical journal with writing and imagery using nature and seasonal rhythms—as well as our hearts and intuition—as our inspiration and guide. We will explore poetry, free writing, and other expressive art forms. This compassionate space is for artists, makers, writers, readers, journalers, and anyone else who hopes to breathe life into their creativity, deepen connections within themselves, and attune to the rhythms of this quiet, sacred season. In the end, you will have a creation that is uniquely you. Most importantly, this mini retreat will inspire, support, and nourish you as you gain a renewed sense of purpose for your creativity and spirit. No previous art or writing experience is necessary. Just bring your curiosity and desire to create. Materials are provided, however participants can bring personal treasures/inspiration, if desired. All supplies provided.
