    Milly McPherson Album Fundraiser

You’re invited! To the greatest Album Fundraiser of all time!

Come along to a crazy busy night of music that will calm you, make you smile and get you up and dancing. By attending the Milly McPherson Album Fundraiser, your ticket will be directly helping us achieve our goal of recording an album. In the show I will be joined as usual by my talented and charismatic boy band made up of Sunny Capron, Ben Gordon and Oliver Hitchen who are some of the most electrifying talents in punk and rock music. I draw inspiration from the deeply personal stories of human connection, love, and loss. My folk-infused songwriting blends seamlessly with the band's dynamic sound, creating music that resonates with every listener. Taking the audience through my love of folk, rock and indie music we hope to impress you, engage with you and dance with you at our Album Fundraiser at the Petersham Bowling Club.

With an electric lineup and a passion for performance, we aim to fill the night with music that will leave you moved and exhilarated. Join us on September 5th for a night you won't forget. Come ready to be impressed, entertained, and part of something truly special. See you there!

What to expect on the night:

    Riki Twinkle:

Professionally known for her electronic pop production and performance, Riki Twinkle exposes her roots in the ambient sphere, a space that catalysed her cult following. Through an intimate improvisational set, referencing her admiration for acts such as Boards of Canada, Autechre and Burial, Riki creates a distinct soundscape, combining comfort and style.

    Sofia Carey:

Sofia Carey is a musician based in Eora / Sydney. She is inspired by many corners of the sonic world, deriving influence for her solo project from the nuances of singer/songwriter sounds, ambient music, trip-hop, dream pop, jazz, and experimental electronic music. Sofia’s vast array of influences are channeled into her eclectic sound in subtle and obvious ways. Though initially her solo project stood firmly in her singer/songwriter roots, playing acoustic sets, she is now beginning to explore the use of electronics in her live performances, integrating the more sound-scapey and experimental sounds she has always been pulled towards and enamoured by in listening and creating. Focussing on lyric and texture, Sofia hopes to lull audiences into a (somewhat somber) meditative state through her music.

    Moose Ends:

The Moose only ends when we say it ends. Or in about half an hour, cause that’s how long Milly is letting us play for. Until such end, we’ll play some pop? Who knows man. If you don’t enjoy, sorry - we can just start doing crowd work if the playing is going poorly. And the originals are all written by a ghost writer if you don’t like them. Also, Zac wanted to share that he likes Big Star and doesn’t like the Kinks. Kieran wanted to counter by saying he does like the Kinks.

    The After Thoughts:

We’re The After Thoughts, a four piece indie pop band from Sydney’s Inner West. We have Ruby and Alfie both singing lead, and playing guitar and bass respectively. We also have Oscar on drums and Martin on rhythm guitar. We formed after being brought together by a love of all things music and our original songs reflect a melting pot of individual influence and talent that each member brings to the band. Our sound is a mixture of alternative rock steadiness with funk and soul sensibility, mixing this with distinct vocal harmonies and punchy instrumentation.

    Milly McPherson:

Milly McPherson, a singer-songwriter from Sydney’s east, teams up with Inner West punk and rock legends Oliver Hitchen (Demolition Man), Sunny Capron (Bennett’s Grove), and Ben Gordon (LARM). Together, they electrify the stage with songs exploring love, loss, and femininity. Influenced by Lake Street Dive, Joni Mitchell, and Courtney Barnett, Milly has performed at iconic Sydney venues like the Lord Gladstone and The Lansdowne. Formerly a lead vocalist in June And The Desert Flames, Milly’s solo debut "Take Me" received airplay on 2SER, Triple J Unearthed, FBi Radio, and more. Her music captures the essence of life as a young artist, blending genres and styles for a unique sound.
