MINDFUL MANDALAS IN STUDIO SERIES

  • Tired of jigsaw puzzles and looking for another mindfully creative outlet?
  • Would you like to do some art work but concerned you are not creative or that you can't draw?
  • Have you been hearing about Mindfulness but can't sit still and just 'meditate'?
  • Are you curious about what a Mandala is and how to create one?

If you answered yes to any of these questions then this just might be the series for you. This is not just Mindfulness where you colour in ready made pictures from a commercially printed book, this is a series where you have fun creating your own mandalas, zendalas and understand more about yourself at the same time.

But what are Mandalas?

The word Mandala comes from the ancient language of Sandskrit meaning Circle. For centuries, humans have seen circles in nature (flowers, ripples in a pond when a pebble is dropped in and so much more). These circles came to represent many things for different cultures, not the least of which was the cycle of life. Evidence of mandalas have been found in ancient China, Tibet, India and even parts of South America.

You may have heard of the Tibetan monks who create sand mandalas over many days only to destroy them to show the impermanence of this world. Well you'll be pleased to know we won't be making sand mandalas; we will use a template and pens, pencils, paint, crayons whatever medium you like.

While you are creating your mandala, you can expect to:

  • discover the sheer bliss of being in flow where time and space disappear
  • learn how you can integrate mindfulness as a daily practice into your life to manage stress, overwhelm and burnout
  • reconnect with your inner child as you get to have time to create and play

This series explores different forms of mandalas – some traditional, some fun and quirky and some transformative.

No art experience is necessary, all templates and materials are provided as well as coffee and tea.

THERE ARE TWO SERIES AVAILABLE TO CHOOSE FROM - OCTOBER SERIES OR NOVEMBER SERIES. EACH HAS 5 CLASSES SO BOOK IN FOR THE SERIES YOU WISH TO ATTEND. YOU MAY ATTEND ONE CLASS OR THE WHOLE SERIES.
