Opening Ceremony for MINIs To The Max, BBQ Dinner

We’re getting the smoker ready and waiting for you! Join us for the opening ceremony for the MINIs To The Max: 65 Years of Spirited Adventures exhibit!

The fun kicks off on Tuesday, April 30th at 6:00 pm. An evening of fun is planned to officially observe the grand opening of the MINIs To The Max: 65 Years of Spirited Adventures exhibit. A barbecue picnic dinner will be set in the outdoor space of The Ultimate Driving Museum grounds served by The Swine House. A cash bar will be served from Rue's Vintage Horse Trailer. Fun and games will be available for all to enjoy!

Come meet the owners of the exhibit vehicles and meet our sponsors while enjoying the enthusiast community that we have celebrated with all of our exhibits. If you have been to one of our openings, you know you will enjoy the evening! An opening speech will be presented by...to commence the opening of the newest exhibit from The Ultimate Driving Museum. 

You will be one of the first visitors to experience the MINIs To The Max: 65 Years of Spirited Adventures exhibit celebrating the evolution of MINI. Starting with MINIs heritage, the vehicle range including motorsport, unique special editions, their passionate owners, and provides a look into the future of the MINI brand. The exhibition will run from May 1st, 2024 to January 18th, 2025. 

In 2024, MINI will be celebrating 65 years of fun and innovation and unveiling the fourth generation of the model range. While the original Mini is considered an icon of 1960s British popular culture, BMW has owned MINI as a brand for 28 years! Its space-saving transverse engine and front-wheel drive layout allowed 80% of the area of the car’s floor pan to be used for passengers and luggage and influenced a generation of car makers. Mini has a rich heritage of performance in race and rally cars, winning the Monte Carlo Rally in 1964, 1965, and 1967. Today MINI continues its racing heritage in the TC America Touring Car Series. BMW launched the new MINI in 2001 drawing inspiration from the original two-door design and brought significant performance improvements to the brand.

The April 30, 2024 Opening Ceremony Picnic Dinner feature:

- The first viewing of the MINIs To The Max exhibit with 31 Minis on display from 1960 - today

- A free exhibition collectible for every adult guest

- Dinner is included and the menu will be BBQ

The Ultimate Driving Museum is located in Greer, SC, directly next door to the BMW Performance Center, and across the street from BMW's largest manufacturing center. The Museum & Archive currently preserves about 80,000 BMW-related items, from cars to engines to art and literature and memorabilia. It's the largest such collection in the Americas.

FAQs

Can I redeem my complimentary Exhibit Open House tickets from my Membership for this event? Sorry, but those tickets are reserved for the open house events. This year you have two to choose from, MINIS On The Dragon Open House, and The Vintage Open House. 

Is there an age limit to enter the event?  -  All are invited. There is no age limit for this event. 

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?  -  We've got the only building on our street. We have plenty of parking. We will have volunteers here to show you where you can park.

What can/can't I bring to the event?  -  Bring your enthusiasm and love for the marque! And bring your cameras...you are welcome to take all the photographs and video you want. Please, no selfie sticks or tripods inside the Museum. Also, please leave large bags and backpacks outside. Pets may be brought to the property, but they are not allowed inside the building. Pets must remain on a leash while on the property, and please remember to clean up after them.

Is this event registration separate from my registration for MINIS on the Dragon Open House and The Vintage Open House?  -  Yes. On this page, you will only register for The Ultimate Driving Museum's MINIs To The Max: 65 Years of Spirited Adventures Opening Ceremony Picnic Dinner on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. You do not have to be registered for any other event to attend the MINI's to the Max Opening Ceremony Picnic Dinner.
