Mitch Bellert Quintet: Young Lions and Beyond

Mitch Bellert and his quintet are a swinging aggregation with a focus on the hard-bop and post-bop eras of American Music. Comprised of some of Brisbane’s finest talent, they present a modern interpretation of this music whilst holding a respect for tradition. Join them as they pay tribute the *second* "Young Lions" era of jazz from the 1980's and 1990s; a group of musicians who helped revive acoustic straight ahead jazz, with a young and passionate fire. The Mitch Bellert quintet will perform the works of artists such as Roy Hargrove, Wynton Marsalis, Benny Green, Donald Harrison, and more.
