Mixed Media Landscape Workshop with Amanda Tattam

Spring is here, and it’s a fabulous time to celebrate our natural world. This workshop is for beginners or anyone who loves to explore and reimagine colour, texture and materials.

You will be supported to:

- prepare bases of wood or paper to make a reimagined surface

- apply dried paint, plastic, sparkles, glass, pigment with glue

- reimagine materials in ways that will surprise and delight you.

- build a picture of nature or a landscape in whatever form you wish.

The bits and pieces we use are everyday stuff donated or left over from other art projects. They will be given another life in your hands!

What to expect: All materials and equipment are provided. No prior experience needed — just curiosity and a love of colour. Classes are kept small to ensure every participant receives personalised guidance.

Age & Abilities:

• All ages (children under 8 need an accompanying paying adult)

• Participants with a disability need an accompanying adult to work alongside them to assist with tasks and with following instructions.

What to wear:

• Old clothing (so you're not worried about getting messy)

• Enclosed shoes

Amanda is a mixed-media artist who loves sharing her passion for art and craft with adults and children. She has been making indoor and outdoor mosaics and mixed media art for over 20 years. Amanda runs community projects and beginners’ mosaic workshops. She believes everyone can tap into their creativity and that this is a great antidote to our screen-dominated world. She mainly uses discarded or donated items in art, such as ceramics, glass, tiles, marble, plastic, and other found remnant materials that would otherwise be thrown away.

Amanda believes that stories and memories are held in reused materials. By intentionally repurposing these items, their history lives on. The materials come together in unexpected ways and begin anew on reimagined surfaces.

Amanda has a Certificate IV in Visual Arts from Melbourne Polytechnic. Studying in Italy in 2017 also led to a deeper appreciation of classical mosaic techniques and styles. She is a member of the Mosaic Association of Australia and New Zealand and was editor of the Association’s national magazine (2022-2025).

After your workshop, take time to:

• Explore The Fabric ReStore, where you’ll find an ever-changing supply of reclaimed fabric and sewing treasures

• Explore Eaglemont Village, grab a coffee at one of the cafes or perhaps a cheeky wine or two at Eaglemont Cellars.

Parking: Silverdale Road has 2-hour parking only. For longer stays, 4-hour parking is available on The Eyrie, or all-day parking on Licksley Road — both are a short walk from the shop.
