Mixed Signals by Jess Cochrane // Exhibition Opening
Event description
Mixed Signals is a powerful new exhibition from Jess Cochrane, one of Australia’s fastest rising art stars.
Opening at aMBUSH Gallery Canberra on 10 February 2022, it’s an exploration of perceptions of beauty and the polarising and often binary ways we view people.
Featuring over a dozen works created specifically for the exhibition, Cochrane’s stylised photographic portraits are embellished with rough, gestural mark-making using acrylic paint, to make the viewer question the intent of the original image and what truly lies beneath the surface.
Opening night at aMBUSH Gallery Canberra (Kambri at ANU) is on Thursday, 10 February from 6-8pm, with drinks from Capital Brewing Co., Lerida Estate and music from a local DJ.
Mixed Signals is curated and presented by aMBUSH Gallery. The exhibition will continue daily from 10am-6pm weekdays and 12pm-5pm on weekends until Tuesday, 15 March. All artworks are for sale.
Please note that aMBUSH Gallery is a Covid-safe venue operating according to current government rules and regulations, and density limits will apply.
