Celebrating Global Folk Traditions

Molly Higgins Band and TAARKA

An Evening of Celtic Fire & Gypsy Soul

Join us for the perfect melding of the world’s folk traditions—a night where the roots of Irish, Celtic, and Eastern European music come alive in a vibrant celebration of rhythm, melody, and movement.

The Molly Higgins Band brings the romping, whirling spirit of Irish and Scottish traditions to life. This dynamic trio’s passion and precision captivate audiences, weaving a rich tapestry of sound that honors the heritage of Celtic music while keeping it fresh and full of energy.

Guitarist Marcos Hanech, whistle player and classically trained oboist, Andrew Jacobson, and fiddle player, Sam Cole come together to create a rich tapestry of sound that honors Celtic tradition while exploring new musical horizons. With their radiant musicianship, onstage chemistry, and engaging performances, the Molly Higgins Band has won hearts across the Front Range—on the airwaves and in concert halls alike.

Sharing the stage, TAARKA adds a modern spin to Gypsy and Eastern European folk music. Once described by SF Weekly as “a collision between Django Reinhardt and David Grisman,” Taarka blends dazzling instrumental mastery with deeply creative songwriting—music that nourishes the soul and lingers long after the final note.

Led by David Tiller (voice, mandolin, guitar, octave mandolin) and Enion Pelta-Tiller (voice, 5-string violin), Taarka’s adventurous soundscapes move seamlessly from soaring instrumentals to heartfelt songs. With roots that span the globe and stories forged from the road, their performances are as dynamic as they are unforgettable.

Don’t miss this rare musical journey—where tradition meets innovation, and every note tells a story.

All tickets include one complimentary glass of wine. In order to complete your listening experience with a gourmet sampling of The Elizabeth’s banquet menu, please purchase a VIP ticket ($50). Food is only available during the concert event with the purchase of a VIP ticket.

Molly Higgins Band

Guitarist Marcos Hanech began his musical journey at his childhood home in Brazil. Inspired by his favorite heavy metal bands, as well as traditional Brazilian music, he brings contagious energy, rhythmic drive, and a wide range of texture to Molly Higgins Band. Whistle player and classically trained oboist, Andrew Jacobson has performed with symphonies around the world and now brings that highly trained expertise to the band on tin whistle. Fiddle player and Boston native, Sam Cole grew up playing music alongside his father in the Cole family band. He draws from a broad musical background that includes Irish, bluegrass, and classical music.

Within Molly Higgins Band, a rich tapestry of influences converge to honor the heritage of traditional Celtic Music. Radio appearances and live performances across the Front Range have garnered a dedicated following as they engage audiences with their passion, polished musicianship, and musical camaraderie.

Taarka

Taarka seamlessly fuses brilliant instrumental chops with songwriting of great depth and creativity, cooking up musical “sustenance that stays with you long after you’ve pushed away from the table.” Adventurers through the many landscapes of music and true world travelers, veterans of 1000-year floods and veggie oil tour buses, David (voice, mandolin, guitar, and octave mandolin) and Enion Pelta-Tiller (voice, 5-string violin) spin stories and melodies that delight, inspire, and move all who listen.

Taarka has drawn from wide-ranging influences over the past 16 years. Since 2006, when David and Enion landed in Lyons, CO, known for its bluegrass and new acoustic scene their compositional output has taken on a decidedly American bent, with vocals added to enhance the stories told in their songs.

Travel throughout North and Central America and Europe has infused their sound with flavors of Western and Eastern folk traditions, jazz, rock, bluegrass, old-time, gypsy, Indian, and Celtic music. Noteworthy is their inclusion of an ancient Galician (Spanish) ballad, Meirol, in their live shows and on their forthcoming album (as yet untitled). Their seventh studio album, Fading Mystery, was released in March 2017.
