Celebrating Global Folk Traditions

Molly Higgins Band and TAARKA

An Evening of Celtic Fire & Gypsy Soul

Join us for the perfect melding of the world’s folk traditions—a night where the roots of Irish, Celtic, and Eastern European music come alive in a vibrant celebration of rhythm, melody, and movement.

The Molly Higgins Band brings the romping, whirling spirit of Irish and Scottish traditions to life. This dynamic trio’s passion and precision captivate audiences, weaving a rich tapestry of sound that honors the heritage of Celtic music while keeping it fresh and full of energy.

Guitarist Marcos Hanech, whistle player and classically trained oboist, Andrew Jacobson, and fiddle player, Sam Cole come together to create a rich tapestry of sound that honors Celtic tradition while exploring new musical horizons. With their radiant musicianship, onstage chemistry, and engaging performances, the Molly Higgins Band has won hearts across the Front Range—on the airwaves and in concert halls alike.

TAARKA delivers a sophisticated, high-energy fusion of Gypsy jazz, Eastern European folk, and soulful Americana. Once famously described by SF Weekly as “a collision between Django Reinhardt and David Grisman,” the band seamlessly blends dazzling instrumental virtuosity with deeply evocative songwriting, creating a musical "sustenance" that lingers long after the final note.

Led by David Tiller (mandolin, guitar) and Enion Pelta-Tiller (5-string violin), Taarka has evolved from a purely instrumental string band into a powerhouse of storied songcraft. Over 16 years of global touring—from veggie-oil buses to 1,000-year floods—as well as performances alongside members of the Grateful Dead, Phish, and The String Cheese Incident, they have distilled influences ranging from Zappa-esque breakdowns to ancient Galician ballads into a sound that is as adventurous as their travels.

Don’t miss this rare musical journey—where tradition meets innovation, and every note tells a story.

All tickets include one complimentary glass of wine. In order to complete your listening experience with heavy appetizers, please purchase a VIP ticket ($50).

Molly Higgins Band

Guitarist Marcos Hanech began his musical journey at his childhood home in Brazil. Inspired by his favorite heavy metal bands, as well as traditional Brazilian music, he brings contagious energy, rhythmic drive, and a wide range of texture to Molly Higgins Band. Whistle player and classically trained oboist, Andrew Jacobson has performed with symphonies around the world and now brings that highly trained expertise to the band on tin whistle. Fiddle player and Boston native, Sam Cole grew up playing music alongside his father in the Cole family band. He draws from a broad musical background that includes Irish, bluegrass, and classical music.

Within Molly Higgins Band, a rich tapestry of influences converge to honor the heritage of traditional Celtic Music. Radio appearances and live performances across the Front Range have garnered a dedicated following as they engage audiences with their passion, polished musicianship, and musical camaraderie.

TAARKA

Taarka seamlessly fuses brilliant instrumental chops with songwriting of great depth and creativity, cooking up musical “sustenance that stays with you long after you’ve pushed away from the table.” Adventurers through the many landscapes of music and true world travelers, veterans of 1000-year floods and veggie oil tour buses, David (voice, mandolin, guitar, and octave mandolin) and Enion Pelta-Tiller (voice, 5-string violin) spin stories and melodies that delight, inspire, and move all who listen.

TAARKA has drawn from wide-ranging influences over the past 16 years. Since 2006, when David and Enion landed in Lyons, CO, their output has taken on a decidedly American bent, utilizing vocals to enhance their world-traveling sound which flavors Western and Eastern folk traditions with jazz, rock, and Celtic music.

The band remains a fixture of the Colorado front range, frequently appearing at legendary Fort Collins venues such as the
Aggie Theatre, Avogadro's Number, FocoMX and the Magic Rat. Equally potent as a down-and-dirty duo or an extended lineup, they have performed with members of the Grateful Dead, Phish, and The String Cheese Incident, sharing stages with icons like Linda Ronstadt and Taj Mahal. From major festivals like Telluride Bluegrass to workshops at prestigious music schools in Spain, David and Enion continue to bridge the gap between soulful mastery and adventurous Americana, ensuring TAARKA is a band that simply must be witnessed.
