_______________

Picture a golden spring afternoon in Old Town. You settle into a comfortable seat in the Sunset Lounge with a glass of wine in hand, and two extraordinary musicians begin to play just an arm's length away. This is the Magic Sunset Series at its most intimate, and this concert brings two of Colorado's finest classical artists together on one stage.

Andrea Segar, violin. Praised by San Francisco Classical Voice for her "sultry sound and chops," Segar has performed at the Kennedy Center and Jordan Hall, and her playing has been broadcast on NPR's Performance Today. She took first prize at both the Washington International String Competition and the ASTA National Solo Competition. Before joining the faculty at the University of Colorado Boulder, she was first violinist of the Lydian String Quartet. She has also shared the stage with members of the Emerson, Juilliard, and Mendelssohn Quartets. Her love of early 20th-century music for violin and piano inspired her acclaimed recital series, "The Decade Project."

Suyeon Kim, piano. Korean pianist Suyeon Kim is"an experienced and versatile collaborator," and it shows. She has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Seoul Arts Center, and has partnered with world-class artists such as Gil Shaham, Emmanuel Pahud, and Warren Jones. A faculty member at CU Boulder since 2013, Kim holds degrees from Eastman and the University of Texas at Austin. Her artistry lies in listening, and in making every musical partner sound their best.

Together they bring the passion and conversation of violin and piano chamber music to Fort Collins. It's the kind of afternoon you'll still be talking about long after the last note.

Why you'll love it:

• World-class artists in a small, welcoming room

• A glass of wine to sip while you listen, included in your ticket

• Doors open at 1:30 so you can arrive, relax, and mingle before the music begins

• By purchasing a ticket you support our mission of providing access to quality music education for low income youth through Off the Hook Arts music education programming.
