Mosquito Fleet IV
Event description
The premiere of Mosquito Fleet IV DVD, the fourth DVD about South Australian Ketches.
In 1922, Milford Crouch began a shipping agency in Port Adelaide, joined in time by his son Reginald. Together they owned or managed many well-known ketches and schooners of the South Australian Mosquito Fleet.
This story is based around 16 and 8mm optical film, digital video and many early still images, and includes fascinating footage of raising the sunken schooner, Milford Crouch.
Descendants of Curley Joe & Blanch, one branch of the Simms family of Moonta Bay, became early professional fisherman, while another became ketch and schooner captains for M.B. Crouch & Company.
The film is digitally re-mastered with added audio to complete the story of the little ships, their working lives, and the men in command.
A record of M.B. Crouch & Cos ketches and schooners. Capture on historic 16 & 8 mm film, videos and stills
