    Event description

    Have you felt it?

Have you felt that moment where your nervous system reaches its absolute limit. The rage explodes from you like volcano and you are no longer in control of your reaction.

    Maybe you yell.

    Maybe you scream.

Maybe you slam the door, throw something on the floor or break something.

Maybe you get right in your child's face and it scares them.

    Maybe you storm off.

Last time it happened you swore you'd never do it again. And then it happened again. And then you feel awful. You feel horrific guilt and shame. You cry and wonder how you could possibly behave like that with the little people you love the most.

And you swear you'll never do it again.

    Until you do.

It's a horrific cycle and I have been in it. I found myself bewildered at how, knowing everything I know about parenting and children's brain development, I could still do that. What was wrong with me?? I soon realised there was nothing wrong with me. But I was suffering from isolated motherhood, I was exhausted, my nervous system was fried, I was stressed about other parts of life and my own childhood maladaptive patterns were playing out. That's a big combo to deal with. There are a bunch of ways to work with our rage and I believe the first step is to acknowledge it's there. It's a thing. And it's there FOR us.

'Hello rage, I see you. What are you trying to tell me?'

Let's gather for an afternoon of sharing, moving, breathing, reflecting and understanding as we aim to explore and integrate the anger and rage that can grip us in motherhood. We will discuss the history and culture of motherhood, brain science, a mother's nervous system and our own childhood experiences and how this all accumulates to create the explosive anger that is so common in mothers. And then we'll take some action through sharing, listening and being genuinely heard, somatic release, breath work, meditation and self reflection followed by tea and connection time.

This is an amazing opportunity to feel seen and heard in your anger as a mother and take action to understand and integrate your experience as well as mine the gold that is available to us when we honour and listen to our anger.
