.mp4U Free Cinema Club
Event description
First Monday of every month
Doors 7pm, screening starts 7:30pm
.mp4U is a free film club, founded to share the programmers’ favourite underappreciated gems with Glasgow. We’ll show movies from the 1910s up to the 2020s, from all across the Earth. We like rebel cinema, feminist cinema, DIY cinema, independent cinema, queer cinema, revolutionary cinema, animated cinema, terrifying cinema, historical cinema, futuristic cinema, cinema that lives in conversations and the imagination. The films are intended for an adult audience unless otherwise stated, but please use your own discretion. All non-English language films will be subtitled in English. Each screening will be preceded by a brief personal introduction and housekeeping. We’d love to screen shorts by local filmmakers before the features too - please tell us about yours at a screening! Approach us for access to the films or more details. If you like this, we’ll just keep doing it!
Additionally, hot vegan/ gluten free food will be offered on a first come, first served basis until it runs out. We will accept optional £2 cash donations for this to cover costs of ingredients only, with all excess being put into future screenings, MESH or a local charitable cause of our choice.
