羞涩又刻板的洛莫夫终于鼓起了勇气，准备向邻居地主的女儿娜塔莉娅求婚，但如此浪漫温馨的时刻却因“草地的归属”和“谁的狗更好”这两个荒唐的争执瞬间破裂，地主阶级的虚伪与庸俗在此过程中暴露无遗。
